What's your worst nemesis, your most dreaded weed or plant?

Thanks Jimmy, I'll keep quiet about it, except to say that I think it was Monty who once said it is no problem......"just cut off the blooms when they start to fade before seeding" Maybe I left it too late!

Never plant alchemilla mollis however pretty you think it is! I thought I had finally rooted out the last bit of it, but seedlings still appear all over my garden and they are tenacious little blighters!

Thanks for these replies. in previous years I think I have overfed particularly tomatoes by feeding every second day, and I think I have overwatered. I will go easy on both.

I've got some rose clear. I'll give it a go. Thanks for that.

What do you carry you hand tools around in?

I lose tools sometimes even when I carry them in a trug. I had a pair of Fiskars snips which completely disappeared for months and luckily just before replacing them I found them deep inside a large heather plant when trimming it earlier this year. Small pleasures!

Can you feed cucumbers with Tomorite or is liquid see weed better? Also how often should you feed them. They are in a cold greenhouse.

Pyracantha

I planted 4 Pyracantha (red) plants in early spring. Three have bloomed, grown well and have berries forming. One is weaker with no berries forming and not much growth. They are about 4 feet apart and soil conditions are the same for all, a clay based soil with compost dug in. The weak plant has some yellowing leaves. Any ideas?

Italophile thank you for your detailed reply. All the folige is affected there are only two trusses and they are poor because of the cold in early summer. There is no sign of aphids or whitefly, just small plants and overall pale leaves. I have watered less this year so I dont think it is overwatering. Someone said it could be the cold.
