Talkback: Garden seating areas

Posted: 28/02/2013 at 17:54
I've been thinking of getting a bench.....not sure at the moment.......only trouble is if I sit out on it all the other tenants here may come out too and I would get no peace and quiet, but still would be a nice thing to do (forget about Me and think of others......Hard that one).....will think about it anyway.

MOB rants

Must admit since having a little rant this morning before I went out certainly put me in a better mood for the day.....Infact I would say a really good mood.

Hi Sarah, welcome back. Hope the gardening forum gives you a lift. Must confess since I became a member I have had a lot giggles and titters with some of the things I read.......really does me good! Lovely photos's Marion.

MOB rants

Getting back to rants, I really get annoyed when I am listening to jazzfm on DAB and it just goes off air! I have got two radios and it does it on both of them so it can't be the radios. It's really annoying......same as when you watch telly .....but that's another story. All this new high tech stuff is good while it works, but there is a lot of times when it doesn't.....computers crashing is a good example. Feel better now, thanks GG.

Plants for narrow border

Posted: 25/02/2013 at 18:29
I used to have a narrow border. It looked quite nice over the years due to putting different bedding plants in each year. Pansie were the first, then I used bizzy Lizzies , they were lovely but Downey mildew has affected the nations stock and not good to use for a few years, then I planted zonal geraniums, they look really beautiful when planted en mass, very effective. Am sure lavender will attract bees and butterflies etc.

What's the weather like in your area?

Overcast but a bit dismal and cold. Managed to water my indoor plants though.

no whinge gardening!!!!!

I know the feeling Flo, am usually exhilarated after a good moan....ha ha.

no whinge gardening!!!!!

Posted: 25/02/2013 at 13:19
I normally whinge when I'm waiting at the bus stop. The usual whine is about the bus being late....being too early and I've missed it, the weather being too cold or too hot (not that it's been like that the past year), the price of food or a car parked right infront of the bus stop - very annoying. I have to admit my whinge in the garden is when I have stepped on some dog pooh (takes ages to clean my wellies, yuk!) and most recently back ache from over raking!

what is this tree?

I haven't got any idea....I look after shrubs and trees, I had to get a book on trees and shrubs and was able to identify them that way.
