Hi everyone, haven't moved out of my flat today, feels too cold. Bin busy all week so will allow myself the luxury of a day in. Won't be any food shortage here , I 'm cooking up a big casserole (bort a slow cooker that is too big for me!), when I've finished shud have about 6 meals to freeze.
Catching up on all the forums to see what's happening, it's nice to catch up. Have just been pottering this morning and feeding my orchids.

Talkback: Good things about February

Posted: 21/02/2013 at 12:32
February is an in between month for me, not quite out of winter and not quite in spring. But I love it because there is a hint, a big hint that gardening life is on its. way again.I start to potter with all my gardening things and feel a big glimmer of excitement at the thort of growing things and of all the plants and bedding to be put in over the next few months.
It is also the time of the year where I start to think about dieting.....but that's another story.
Had my first cup of tea out on my balcony this week when it was sunny and warmish, I enjoyed it and looking forward to many more.
Today I have been watering and feeding my orchids and wondering how they are going to do this year.

Talkback: Ant attack

I had ants in my flat a few years ago and it was operation get rid. Bort some Nipon and it did the trick. Don't like killing things but sometimes you have to draw a line. The slugs are going to cop it this year........have been to nice with them in the past but their time has come!

I'm not planning any gardening shows at the mo, but am looking forward to going to Ness Gardens (Wirral), I haven't got a car but our local bus company has just started a service going there every half hour. Am really pleased . Not been there before so am looking forward to going.
Was going to go this week but too cold......lovely pics Lizzie and Love to garden

Hi Alan , I get a lot of my gardening stuff from wilko's, can't say I have ever had any problems. I love their gardening section. My favourite haunt is the garden centre but sometimes a bit too pricey for some of the things I need. I think you can get bargains in a lot of the shops.
I bort an orchid for three pounds about five months ago and it is only now starting to drop its flowers.
Enjoy your shopping.

It Is Not Spring Yet !!!

It's been lovely here on the Wirral, fog and frost this morning and now clear blue skies. Even a hint of warm sunshine. Will make the most of it, not sure about later in the week.
