THis is my balcony garden...i grow all sorts up here...curly kale...toms.....lavender...dahlia...geraniums...summer bedding sitting amongst the plants early mor ing with a cuppa...we also have a wildish back it there too...

I wouldn't repot until the roots are coming through the bottom....i know you can trim the dead ariel roots......

i repotted all mine and regretted it..i have damaged a few in the process...Dr hessayon books are good..he has one on orchid care....i should have followed his instructions...

i do know Orchids like to fit tightly in their pot.....

after having lost a few i havent given up, just learnt my lesson Gerry...i have some beautiful orchids now...and care for them with great pride.....

Yes..just checked both sites..could be either...maybe as it grows i will be able to identify it better...i am leaning towards the polka dot plant ..but will keep an open mind....i bought it from a florists very cheap....and am looking forward to potting it up but thought it would be nice to know what it is...i appreciate the feedback Dove and Star....

I bought a calla was gorgeous...planted it out and low and behold the bulb was totally annihilated by Sid the Slug, pretty peeved...the lily cost me a few bob...

ANYWAY on a positive note...COSMOS, MARGERITES (not sure how to spell this) do well, i havent had any slimey slug probs with these...

Garden centre are a good place to buy good ones...that is where I would go..



Deadheading Clematis?

Hi David...I am new to clematis and have some growing in the garden...I think I will be deadheading them when the flowers are spent....don't know if this is the right thing to do.....

 there area very interesting gardening clips on you tube about gardening...I saw one about looking after petunias the other day and it was very interesting...maybe there will be some on looking after clematis....
