I haven't got an iron big enough to iron my knickers!

too scared to prune

Posted: 04/02/2013 at 18:56
I always read up about shrubs and when to prune , always best to do that and you can't go wrong ( fingers crossed!) . I was very nervous when I first starting pruning and was afraid I would murder the shrubs I look after (they are not mine which made me even more nervous!!!!) but I have been pleasantly surprised.

Don't plant any veg! Ha ha

I heard slugs and caterpillars return to their place of abode if you put them somewhere else.

I can't kill them, hate using stuff on them but in the mean time they woofed up most of my plants last year. Think I'm going to have to get tough.

Hurry up and start spring for goodness' sake!

Yes , I wish spring would hurry up, I'm chomping at the bit to get out. Thought warmer weather was coming and now they have said the weather is going to drop again next week - oh, the dismay!

A fellow nut! Ha ha

Talkback: How to feed your plants

Posted: 29/01/2013 at 17:57
Hi Ann, potash is another name for potassium which is important for plant growth. You can buy it in garden centres and maybe some big stores. Not sure if it comes in granules but you can get it in a box in powder form and add it to your watering can. Hope this has helped you in some way. I have only been gardening for the past five or six years and it has been a lovely journey, especially learning all these new things and I'm still learning. I don't know too much about the ins and outs of all these feeds but I think I know enough to get by now. Barbara
