I have PRESUMED and i dont know why that the little caterpillars in their millions each year who chew up my geraniums are cabbage white butterflies , only by identification by fotos on the websites, ...but was a little unsure....but there was certainljy a lot of white butterflies around for a few weeks.....

The little things are legless...cant remember the last time I was..hehehe

and i dont have any Brassicas.........????????????????

I did check your link dove and it is cushion insect scale as you said.....the picture was the same as the one i posted....long oblong white things with no legs.....thanx...

have learnt alot from this post ...will look for cabbage larvae on other plants...

Spot on buddy boy...there are hundreds of them...they move onto all the bedding plants eventually and devour them....think i willl have to take as many leaves off the camelia as possible...even if it makes it look bald....i can prune back the eleagnus and then see whats what.....

thanks everyone i appreciate all the feedback....i recognise  the camelia caterpillars from last year all over the geraniums with there knives  and forks....

maybe i could put all the leaves in a wild spot further down the road and they can hatch there....

They grow into those white butterflies nutcutlet....

I will need to be very patient..i think there could be well over a hundred of them...hehehe

Does any one know what these are...there are loads of them under the camelia leaves .......each year there is an infestaion of cabbage worm in the garden i care for (i think they are cabbage worm..longish green type  caterpillars)...are these the eggs.....????

they are even under the eleagnus leaves.....i sprayed with detergent and water hoping it would lodge them off but nothing happened...if they are cabbage worm i want to nip them in the bud before they can do much damage......in fact whatever they are i am sure they need dealing with....any ideas?????

They are just zonal geraniums fleurisa....but I will bear what you said in mind...sounds like a good idea....

Blairs i can can still pick any off if there are not too many and use spray......I appreciate everyones feed back.....thanks
