Temp of greenhouse

Posted: 12/05/2013 at 20:42

I have herb seedlings and flower seedlings and some brocilli that I have grown from seed they are about 3 inches tall now.

I have opened it up on the odd occassion that it has been sunny  as it was above 30* and I was worried it was getting too ot in there

Hi everyone,
I have a small plastic greenhouse and it often gets to 30* and am wondering what temp is ideal and at what temp do I need to open it up to cool it down ?

Many thanks

Hi there Im pretty new to seed sowing too and I have to say its alot of trial and error with me as well....

This is a fantastic place to get all the help and advice you need I often spend the evening reading through all the threads gathering all the info.

I have got myself a little greenhouse now and am having fun trying to grow things...some are now a 3rd attempt and I feel so happy when I see those little green shoots poking their heads out of the soil....DON'T GIVE UP

slugs and toddlers

I had a large problem with slugs last year so after using pellets that didnt really work  I ended up using broken egg shell as welland this really worked , just scatter the shell around the base of the plants and the slugs wont go near them..

Seeds not growing

Hi all...Im after some advice please.  I built a raised bed and put in some well rotted horse manure and new compost then covered it in a few layers of fleece to warm up the soil ready for planting..

After a couple of weeks I planted some seeds then about 10 days after that we had about 6 inches of snow which I cleared off the fleece.

My question is will these seeds grow now and if not will it be ok just to leave them in the soil. and re-plant them. I planted carrots, beetroot, parsnip .

thanks in advance for your help
