I have heavy clay soil so I grow them in pots and those sown this year will be flowering well next year and also as they are in pots I can put them in the shed in winter.

I think that might work for fencing it must go deep and out ,because they can burrow at speed.

It may rain then sun on the leaves ,sweet peas do take a time to unfurl until they start going ,sunshine needed.

in the ground they need to be or they will go lanky and not near walls as they soak up all the water they can and that's not good for a wall! they drink  a lot and at first you will have to protect from slugs.

I have to pick the duck weed  out by hand  or with  a net ,the thing is to keep some shade over the pond and I run water from the water  butt so fresh water gets in and grow irises in  a pot to filter the water.
