I get a lot of moss too,I use mine for hanging baskets.I dig it out of the lawn and anywhere I don't wish it to grow,on stonewalls or old trunk of tree I leave.
its coming Friday to the west,so getting ready with the salt,shovel and sledge.very cold this evening.
there is a lot of life in a compost bin,worms of every size and shape,earwigs,and allsorts of creepy crawlies,mice and rats,fox and cat sit on top and I wish I could say hedgehog.I have toads and newts in the greenhouse.
Very icy today,a lot of slipping and sliding going on,very cold and sharp and I have a hat on which I normally hate,cant ride out tomorrow as ground to slippery and yesterday at R.D.A. me and the horse slipped side ways.poor birds look shrammed and I just got the yucca in in time,the snow is threatened for Friday.

had four wood pigeons squabbling on the shed roof this morning ,all over the bird seed,it was funny to watch as they slid off the roof due to the ice,and the fox I met at the front door looking for offerings,looked healthy and with cubs due in spring,she is a darling but runs the risk of humans in cars each night.
at ford abbey I saw a border of Chinese anemones in pinks and whites which looked stunning ,also I love rudbeckia s .
