Gardeners World - not back for 4 weeks!

Posted: 05/07/2012 at 21:23

Hi All, I am so glad I started this thread and glad to see its still going strong, had a bit of time off the internet in the last week because my 15 month old got a little ill, better now, so now a bit of time to myself! My husband has just come in finally from the garden and I was telling him about everyone's totally agreement on the love your garden, we did watch a little again but soon agreed if you went back in a year the majority of work was too high maintenance to look stunning a year on, isn't meant to be easier for the poor people!  Please can someone let me know where to complain to the beeb I still can't find it quickly looking through the thread. I agree with Gardening Grandma lets dig the heels in ( no pun intended!)

Husband and I sat down to Love Your Garden tonight.. not overly impressed... more like a makeover show this time round rather than anything relevant to this time of year, what a shame! Glad frensclan has made a stand, can you remind me of the link someone so I can add my name to it. Happy Gardening everyone, shame about the hayfever though!

Glad to hear Green Magpie you have made an official complaint, I went on the points of view website and thought the same, please let us know if you hear anything. As a gardeners wife I know how much the garden means to my husband, especially been out there and of course watching Gardeners world so I think based on this forum its a good guage of how popular the programme.  Ironically instead of listening to Sport presenters chat for half and hour before a match or after a sports event - why not just fit us GW in - call it an ad break of sorts!!! I don't mind sport but be nice to have a fair balance, 30 mins is all we are asking!

Thanks Kate1123, I think though as they have not produced the series its too late to act, what a shame!  I feel we will have to garden alone without the help of Monty. I am glad my discussion has ignited some passion in people... lets turn over to ITV to see Alan do a little bit of gardening for now!

I totally agree, its only 30 minutes of out a whole week of programming. I have never been on a forum but I felt this was a bridge to far, so I registered!  I feel a Anne Robinson letter coming on... showing my age.. not sure who it is now.. feel free to let me know anyone! Maybe there is budget constraints and the 'sport' is just an excuse, who knows but I do know I have an unhappy husband!! What is Monty Don going to do for 4 weeks... and there is no point going over all ground ( no pun intended) when its been and gone! Bring it back!

My husband and I were so disappointed to see due to 'sporting' events that our 'gardening' TV is being put on hold! Its Summer, a key time to garden, what is the BBC thinking! There is so much other repeats on the TV, I am sure they can find a slot on Saturday night..! What a real shame.
