Went to the allotment yesterday really hot so got there earlier to do digging took longer than expected was there till 3 ish,  had to have a few breaks as felt sick from the heat - lucky we took the parasol from home so could go and sit under that for a rest parasol leaning sideways as no stand for it

finally managed to get the 3 metres dug at last,  just the sorting of soil and rubbish to go - then putting the soil back in the hole and then the best bit planting

Having a rest now for a few days from the allotment plot as need to recover from all the digging - so will be able to do light tasks at home

Also yesterday we managed to get a few part pallets for free local to us on the way home which could be a possible fence along the front of the plot and may be able to get more from them as still building bits

GWRS need umbrella no shade on my plot

Zoomer44 sounds good with your strimmer, Lidl have got one in stores from today

Fruitcake think on youtube someone had chicken with sun heat stroke off there food not looking great, they had advice to every day to get a bucket of water to dunk them in there for 3 minutes which cools there temp down not sure if it was twice a day

Hello GWRS

I picked some broad beans the other day and tonight for dinner thought they were ok in taste grown Bunyards exhibition variety

Been to the allotment doing lots of digging on the trial area taking a while as more like whacking the soil and a spade in depth and more in some areas - supper hot day today

finding lots of bits of glass and some rubbish, found a big bit of carpet in a different area under the soil and still a big bit of carpet in the soil too hard to get out needs more digging

Got given some swede plantlets from a different neighbour so got them planted out and netted and got more cabbage given yesterday as NDN had too many and they needed planting the others I planted have been nibble at they said birds like to do that and the slugs also got a free bit of net to help the plants
