Posted: 10/02/2013 at 21:27

I brought some cheap seeds today from in-excess 25p per pack, I know they sell them off cheaply because date has past but sure if they kept them stored well they will grow fine. lots of flower seeds I brought - but there was veg as well

The A to Z of TV Gardening

That would be a good idea Bev maybe you should start a new thread sure lots would join in.

I enjoyed watching some of letter F, just finished watching on iplayer, but shame no french beans - I wanted to be on there but good bit on foxgloves - I brought a white foxglove today, did not think about the A-Z gardening show, I just spotted it thought that would be nice. So it was good to be on there I got more info on them now great.

Like all the fence bits the colour and the one Joe Swift made - looks effective made with that wood.

I have made planters with tyres but turned inside out though much bigger planters then. Enjoyed watching all letters so far

how to use nematodes efficiently

Posted: 09/02/2013 at 17:28

I have used nematodes for slugs, I would apply more than once to try and get rid of as many as I could. You must remember to get the right amount for the size garden you have. They last for 6 weeks in the ground then they need topping up to keep removing the slugs. When I started to use them, I did see results pretty quick. You just need to wait till the soil warms up a little then use them and make sure the weather is not going to rain constantly for days or months as too much rain makes them not work as well. Definitely use them - they work well even if they cost quite a bit of money.

Has anyone been looking what birds our out and about in your garden?

Thanks obelixx that's proberly the website I saw before - I knew there was something about taking all the stuff away, could not remember what the website was, watched the clip and still looks a bit formal box edging

I don't think there would be much buzzing if garden too formal

Like the show, but not into formal gardens really, too posh and a lot of clipping of hedges.

Joe Swift got rid of his allotment gave it up not fair I was just getting into watching him growing veg, people put that on the link below.  that was the dig-in forum, but not no more now they closed it.

This weeks show will be good I hope - vegetables and flowers, I enjoy watching all the gardening programmes, so good there is one on tonight

Allotment in tonight's programme, I like to grow flowers with veg - do you?

Agapanthus - can you propagate from seed?

Posted: 08/02/2013 at 13:56

I got my little seedlings growing on a window sill inside, that I sowed last year about October, they take a while to get to any size mine are about an inch and a half not all the seeds grew though can take up to 4 years to flower I read somewhere. Will try the method you posted sotongeoff, looks similar to what I am trying out I will try and sow more now as well, I have white Agapanthus seeds too. I did try some before but left outside and weather got too cold for them.

my computer sometimes does not show them all and I look on the forum and think someone else has been one and then look at the post myself  even though it should let me know
