Evening all, coo what a hot day.  Got a nice delivery yesterday of some Dierama plants - Blue Belle, Guinevere and Merlin, so have been out planting them today.  Planted lots of little lavender plants as well.

Yesterday I finished off making my bug house.  Will put on photos later.

Watched tv and ended up buying more things from there - garden items of course!

My strawberries not always ripen at this time but they normally have them on the tennis on TV and wanted to see if the ones in the garden would be ready then few were

GG -  I look into a local echo and found an add to help litter pick and gardening - gardening was more the interest so went along and helped but then managed to get gardening on the closer station even though other station close, nice to make local area nicer, there are mainly plants that look after them self at station but not all - need to do more in in garden here back and front bit at a time more tricky in heat wave

Bev I watch Big Brother as well secret house interesting and luxury

Hello evening all, been super hot today heat wave - went up to station plant out few more bits and a bit more sorting area for wildflower and frazzled, did see some ladybirds one nice black one with red spots.

Have had some strawberries from own garden today - just before the tennis goes off the telly - normally ripen at this time

I have been up that climbing frame again (scaffold tower) yesterday washing the top window and today been pruning the rose bush  thought I would get this done while it is there, lots of watering needs to be done but too knackered so will do tomorrow

WW - I went to Exbury a few years ago, you should try the small railway train enjoyable and nice bit of scenery to look at got a nice red acer from there

Where have all the ladybirds gone?

Posted: 04/07/2013 at 13:27

I brought some ladybirds last year bit more expensive than that and some houses for them they were in the garden for a while but disappeared off, so through I would try the larvae so I brought ladybird larvae which seamed to stay longer and eat more bugs and the food sashay to help keep them longer in the garden you get more larvae about 50 in a small tube and I think they eat more bugs than ladybirds if that helped

This year just sticking to putting the food out to try make sure they stay in the garden and not spend so much money

Here is a larvae sticking to my watering can they cling on when they are starting to change to ladybirds

They are mostly still ladybird larvae just starting to change into ladybirds I have a few in the garden, you can buy ladybird food from some GC for a few quid it is a small sashay you mix a bit with water and put around your garden to attract lady birds in
