Hi Crazyflower if you painted it I think that would of helped protect your plants from the chemicals and you will have to line areas with like weed matting to put the compost and strawberry plants in

So I would use the pallet, I have only had heat treated ones

Having a go at a cut flower patch...

Posted: 29/03/2015 at 16:52

I sowed a few flower seed yesterday and day before for cutting patch, antirrhinums, Ammi V, aster, larkspur and ageratum timeless mix

Gone with 5 types of sunflower 3 of each in loo roll middle tubes and yogurt pots one a perennial one, few mixed colour ones, giant ones that is 15 seeds

Sarah Raven said in Garden News mag to pinch them out when they get to 30 cms big which means they don't grow vastly tall but are bushy and more flower productive

Beaus Mum I saw council displays last year with sunflowers in part of the beds looked good

Hello all

Back in looking dryer out now but windy, up early as went to Sholing valley study centre today for the conservation day as we were manning the plant area with lots of plants to sell - only had a few people wonder around and they did not buy any but we did 2 grasses Luzula nivea, Karl foerster and a choisya so they got a bit of money, they will get more money when they do their spring fair in May

Also watching a blue tit checking out one of the bird boxes there

Stagbeetle I would say with your sweet peas to pinch them out above the first set of leaves stops them being long and leggy and new shoots will come out lot stronger, the potatoes look just right all other seeds look great

So good watching seeds grow and seeing everyone else's

Stagbeetle I sowed my sunflower seeds today

put the sunflower seeds in loo roll tubes trying them again as did not have any tin cans I could use and a few yogurt pots

BizzieB your plot looks really good, looks like you are going to have a nice lot of space to grow things in

Here is the horse manure I collected the other day, from this

17 bags later and lots of shovelling then looked like this
