Hello all

I have been feeding the birds today and squirrels, the birds here are eating the peanut and mixed seeds and fat balls, one of my feeder attracts the pigeon and doves, have blue tits on the peanuts feeders, just after I put the food out a black bird was there

I was watching out the window the other day and 3 squirrels were running around the garden over the wall and in to next doors (the joint house) garden playing around under there apple tree

Been sorting out my cold frame building over the last few days getting there still a bit to go

Q who has cold frame  -

what do you have in the bottom i.e. sand, grit ?

I will have weed matting at the bottom  -

Do you have any insulation in there i.e. polystyrene sheets

I want to keep the sweet peas and dahlia tubers in there over winter any advice grateful

The apprentice final is on tonight

Dove amazing you saw Bob Flowerdew when you where shopping you could of got him to sign something

Wow Edd that looks amazing - that looks tricky to build

Zoomer not sure seaweed don't really have beaches around here for that may try pellet form, good point about watering the potatoes, I did use a hose which tap water has got lime in - maybe I will stick to water butt water

Raspberry's I meant cut down to ground level not grown level, sometimes you can tell if they are summer ones as the old canes will be really twiggy which would get cut away

Fruitcake sounds as though you are well prepared with your seed sowing areas - I find I run out of room for seedlings, I did start with one grow house 4 tier then got 2 5 tier ones and now have a nursery raised bed to grow seedlings on before planting out

Roy shame the lady won't be coming back but that is an experiment for you to try out - if you are thinking of cut flowers you could have a look at the local GC's and see if they have any bulbs going cheep to plant out now time

Roy ask if the person knows if the raspberry plants are autumn or summer cropping ones as is autumn plant you trim down in about February time to near grown level as fruit on same year wood

The 3.. 4.. 5. tier gh is good option for growing seedling, I put away when finished about September this year and get back out spring, yes weighed down with bricks is best mainly stays up but if windy weather does blow,   have had it on the floor with all my seedlings in once not so nice then so bricks help

BizzieB that is good that you will be having a shed,  I have just brought bags of manure from gc like you for my garden beds

one bed needs re- doing with wood then I will add the manure is so handy in bags

You what Verdun - I am watching it tonight

KEF still feel a bit stressed about it, but like what you put about him just wanting to shout at the pallets - like they will understand, I say hello if he goes past - dad talks more to him - he lives with a mate and his kid more of a mans house

Tree decorating getting nearly there, had to tidy up a bit first

My sweet peas are doing well out in the gh

Enjoy your evening Woody

Here you go Roy pic below this is my potting table built out of pallets this year took quite a while to build, it was more separating the pallet wood and putting it together so without gaps in it, very handy to have - and have a grow bag water tray to help water plants when potted on

That seems a good deal, I was looking at the T&M gh but was too wide for my space

Me scared to go that way in the drive feel like I want him to be out and when you walk to go down the garden you have to go past the drive not a private area need to have a gate - he has only lived there a few years and does not do gardening other than using a hedge trimmer over all the plants

I like going in the garden and won't stop me going that way - really need to sort out building my cold frame this week and was going to use a bit of the drive way now not so sure

Normally we are fine with the neighbours just keep the peace

Thanks Lesley and Thanks Woody may well do that sometime is peaceful there

Monkey puzzle glad I don't have one of those if you did it would have to be in a pot as if not you could be stuck with it in your garden as you are not allowed to remove them
