New allotment OMG...

Salino is that your space or are you hoping to get that bit of space - is there no waiting list

Think when you get a new project like an allotment you do over do it a bit to start with it is the excitement of it all so you do end up with aching muscles

Zoomer like that - lazy allotmenteer,    When I get a plot after a bit of hard graft I want a seating area so I can enjoy the allotment I know I don't stop and look at the garden enough here which I should really

Hillier's tomorrow as I want their muiti purpose compost for the pallet project and lots for my nursery bed,  want it to be a dry day so I can be nosy at the plants

Try some dogwood for the hot border good for winter colour

Hello Salino

I have not got a plot yet but would say get a strimmer or sheers to cut the grass down then try and start digging over areas bit by bit when you have dug over a area cover with weed matting or lots of cardboard anything to stop any weeds coming up

If you clear an area there is also green manure's that can be sown on the soil to add organic matter - which you dig into the soil spring time,  should help keep weeds away

That is lucky with the shed - have you got different garden tools for at home to the allotment?

I have a walk in gh one of those large plastic ones from B&Q it is great - have you seen my pallet thread I made a potting bench for my gh from about 2 pallets

I hope I get a plot like that private so I don't get disturbed to much, easy distracted me, and don't want a plot with no shelter

This plot pic below won the best allotment award in the show on the 16th Aug, quite neat - the people in the shop when we asked which plot said it's a man's plot with straight line regimental

That's some for you then Lesley enjoy

We did not plant the tree been there for years I guess apples were quite high up and brambles in front -  we have not got around to clearing that bit - and if the train stops the passengers have to walk the other way up the slope - so I think it's OK
