MORNING FORKERS

Posted: 03/08/2013 at 09:16

Morning, Kef, Fidget, Verdun, Nut and Gilly. Iterested to hear about the broken branches of buddleia. Maybe the explanation for all my broken branches is merely rain.

Looked at the stumps of wisteria yesterday. Couldn't even find some of them, growing through another upright shrub. What the dickens can be done????

Well, not ultimately my problem, I suppose...

Morning everyone.

Rain has stopped and garden is nicely refreshed. No more branches down. It is cool and cloudy and I should think there'll be more rain. It is good day for planting, though, and I've a few things to put in. There's an amazing lack of weeds because of the hot, dry weather, but I could do a bit of weeding, too.

Have a good day, everyone.

Sorry to hear you hurt yourself, PP. Jude the Obscure is an absolutely gorgeous rose! Wish I had room for one.

TT, tougher pants are the ones I wear when I want to look OK in a pencil skirt. However, I won't be planting any of those in the Swansea garden - and unfortunately I can't grow them in my garden, either. Have to pay for them.

I've had problems getting this thread to update, too. Good tip to hit F5, TT. Perhaps you'd better hit nothing else until those aches and pains go away.

Evening all. Just bumping up this thread a bit early.

Been to bro's house in Swansea, after lovely lunch on tesco points and a glorious walk with the dogs in Clyne gardens. Bro's away and only one of his sons was there, using the house while his parents are away. It was 2.30 and I got him out of bed. Cleared up yesterday's takeaway, washed his beer glass and threw away his rubbish. Thanked heaven my son is 40 and married! Called at GC on the way home and got two nearly free plants on my loyalty points - a lovely pink monarda and a deep pink helenium.

When it gets a bit wetter and cooler, will start diving some of my tougher pants for bro's garden. Took a look at the wisteria stumps and tried to work out how to kill it all. Hmmm....

Morning everyone.

No garden jobs except watering done for a week at my house, so I might do that cutting back. If it is not too hot.

Have a nice day, everyone.

It's strange GG. I didn't do anything very strenuous yesterday compared to day before. My  27 yr old body is just catching up I think...

Is it you that's frying or just the laptop?

It's me, FG. The laptop can stand it.

Not quite first, Verdun! Isn't it irritating when someone else posts at the same time as you and your post ends up looking a bit odd. Not that you could ever look a bit odd, of course.

Evening all. Jolly hot today!! Came home from lunch out and have done ablosutely nothing - again. Saving my strength for the next visit to bro's house in Swansea next Monday.

TT, how well you know me!

FG, not using that foul language again, are you? I would never do such a thing!!

Been out for lunch with old colleagues. (Old may be the right word!) nothing suitable for diet on the menu so i virtuously ordered a chicken sandwich, while others ordered things like gammon and chips. When mine came, it had a large side salad, chips and gravy. Didn't eat the gravy. Saying nothing more.

TT, have a good day. Just letting you know that I actually had a very virtuous day yesterday, diet wise! Doesn't happen very often so thought it was worth recording!

Even refused Welsh cakes!
