bird feeders

Posted: 02/09/2012 at 20:02

@yes pigeons.. we have wood pigeons and we are fattening them up for when times are a bit tough for Sunday roast..

I am thinking you have grey squirrels over there.. here we only have red and they are not such a problem perhaps.. very shy creatures.. we are not allowed to do anything to hurt them or deter them.  I believe that greys are counted as vermin and cann be killed if a pest.. would have to check on that. We had a scare here otehr year when someone reported seeing a grey one in the woods.. a fullscale hunt was set out but nothing found.

@bookertoo.. they are metal.. the only plastic is the hole liners and the soft rubber perch covers.. must dmit i do not suffer squrriels.. but my mum used to.. she made little one sided open huts for there hazelnuts.. that kept them off the other feeders..

LEYLANDII HEDGE REMOVAL

Posted: 02/09/2012 at 16:15

@hedge help.. if they are on your side of the fence they are yours to do with as your please.. if the are a boundary hedge then you have to see who it belongs to as suggested.. but you say on your side of fence.. so cut away as you please.. enighbour can do nothing about it.. and there is some form of law i think about leylandi and height etc.. must look that up.

As for the dispute.. that is only if the police have been involved i believe could be wrong.. and if it is stated it was abaout removing a huge nedge of these things there will be no problem i think.

@mollycatshirley.. i was also wondering that aobut his garden.. is it empty for rest of the year.. very boring is so.. i would much rather have colour all year..

i am totally unable to leave a bare space in my garden empty for long so i just couldnt cope with leaving it all bare to plant dahlias once a year..
