Garden Gallery 2013

some beautiful pics this year again members.. i have not got much this year.. my garden is dead or dying to lack of rain all year.. and i have been unable to do much on it with my arthritis going into inflammatory arthitis with the heat..

so must say i have had no interest this year and it really shows.. amazing how much work it takes to keep it looking good.... i have had some comments about mine this year.. but hey ho sometimes other things take precident.

but i am hopin with my new wider path (ready for when i am wheelchair bound) and some new borders dug..i will be eager again as i have to fill them up.. so a bit of theraputic plant buying should be good for me

barking dogs

tina.. get yours self one of those dog repellent sound thingys.. cant remember name of them.. it gives out high pitch tone with only dogs can hear ... they are hand held for about a £5 or youcan get ones for in trees which have a range of about 40ft.. so that should stop them.. just put in search ..dog deterrent.. and you should find it.. put it in ya garden near their side and the dogs should shut up..

the hand held ones run on batteries and we got one for nipper when on his bikes.. as dog owners never controlled their dogs around him.. so now he can just push the button and they run off.... very fast.. he feels much safer now.. and hubby strapped it to his handlebars..

i cant stand people that allow their dogs to bark all the time..drives me mad.. we nearly got an air horn thingy to let off each time our neighbours dog barked.. but though no.. so just got one of these pitch derrent.. works great..

What to do with your produce

Posted: 02/09/2013 at 11:44

i have made apple sauce and pies.

frozen most of the veg.. peas/runners/carrots but have also given away loads of runner beans to the neigbhours and got some gorgeous big fat black cherries in return for some..

eaten the salad stuffs but did give some celery away to next door as she loves it also..

and those apples looks delicious flowering rose.. making my mouth water.

i am waiting for my bramblys to fill out.. thou they are dropping at the mo as we have not had any rain for months still.. hosing the garden each eve now for last few days as all 6 water butts are empty again for the 5 time this year..

Thinking ahead

i will also let more things grow where they are first.. then removed what i dont want.. did this last year and i also got some nice little surprises.

i ahve few plants that are in the wrong place.. need shade and not sun.

put most of all next year my new path will be finished (fingers crossed) and i will ahve nice big new borders to fill... and that will be lots of moving around and filling up have some plants ready already:-

on the vetegable side of it i will not plant so many runner beans... been overloaded with them this year.. and i will plant many more peas and carrots instead and try some french beans. we will not be doing broccoli again as fed up with the butterflies and their eggs this year has been so time consuming.

i will try and sow my seeds earlier as they didnt do so well this year.. my cosmos have been nothing really.

and with all the seeds i hope to get in the swap.. i will ahve lots new plants to work with also.
