well today it is like middle of winter instead of summer.. blowing a wholey and throwing it down all day.. only started to dry up hour or so ago.. this is really taking the gerry now this weather..

why are my swede and carrots split..

i cant see that as it is sandy and free draining and not much nutrients in it at all... this is first year they have done it.. strange.

hi everyone, hubby as asked me to ask you all if you can tell him why his swede and carrots have split.. when we pull them the carrots look great then we see a split right down one side leaving them wide open.. same with the swedes..

he thinks it is because of all the rain is that right he asks.

they seem to like shade /dapple shade and free draining.. well in my garden they do. they do not do well in full sun here.

@berghill.. well enjoyed walking round your garden, i would llove that much land, thou hubby not so keen, your cat is rather a poser, sneaks into the shots when ya know looking

i keep seeing such lovely rose on here, think i will get some and try them, thou soil not right i dont think as sandy and free draining. ALso the dahlias, i bought some fo this year but they have not really done anything.. i must admit i am a rascal for penstemons really.. and woul dlvoe nothing but in my garden, but hubbys says "varitey dear variety".. so i add some otehr cottage garden plants and it looks good, but not enough penstemons
