I also have them in semi shade and they do fine. But they do go brown wifh the wind as said above. But as they getter larger they look better

leadfarmer.. please tell me how to get a screen shot of the screen please.. i can not do this.. as you have done.

i just upload mine from my photos file on the pc.. so much quicker.. and john please do try and add some yr garden looks lovely.. use the tree icon at top of the message box next to the spell checker button.

@gillyL.. yes i agree.. they stick them on everything.. dvd covers for instance.. bought one for my bro in law at weekend for birthday the the label came off taking some of the cover print with it.. so annoying

another rant i have this week is.. shops who cram so much in you cant walk round the stands without knocking stuff off.. sports direct for instance.. my god!! so cramped in there and you need a sat nav to find the tills.. then when you do they have no queueing line.. just stand amoungst the racks of items for sales.. while a large banner over the till states.. go on and line and tell us what you think of our queueing.. "i can tell ya.. get some space and make a single line up system.. as that lady over there has just got served there while we are all stood here waiting for you to get going serving us.." i announced along with some "yeah get it together girl" and "come on have not got all day love" from in front and behind me.

and breath....

welcome fred. what hard work yo have put in and the rewards will be worth it.

buyz-lizzie.. i would love your garden.. the love the stone pillar at the end of the wall.. it makes a super feature and i love them sort.. might see if can get hubby to build one in my garden will have to soft soak him first the aliums are looking super..mine are just out now.. but need some sunshine to make them fully open.

how much ground do you have?

i have an iris that has been in the ground for two years now and it has veyr tall flower stem on it with 8 buds on each.. the top one is opening nad has been taking weeks waitin for the sun.. which came last weekend.. and is now opening.. so excited as do not know the colour as bought at car boot..so i will add picture whenit does open and show you all.. especially if it is dramatic

Peonie help and cat issues

cats are a problem.. we have only one round my way and my garden seems to be its favourite at the moment.. it trudges all the way up the road to find that nice lovely soft soil where my carrots and spinach and lettuce are planted.. and digs them up.. i now have carrots, spinach and lettuce sprewn across the bed growing up i dont like my lines getting messed up i like them all straight & proper and standing to attention

i another not i foolishly used my branch cutting from my weigelia?? for pea supports this year as looked to much nicer than the wire mesh.. and they have gone and rooted and are now sprouting.. hubby not so happy.

but now i know how to do cuttings from them

yes yr right patsyD.. then they self seed anywhere and you cant get rid of them.. thou i do love them and they come back year after year.. thou i have found mine have got bit woody and only re shooting from one side this year..

maybe time to pull them up and seed some more?

i agree but the fact it is called weedkiller means it will kill anything in my view... if it is tough enough to kill weeds..a s they seem to manage to live what ever the conditions.
