Morning Dove, and forkers yet to arise,

I've been outside and it's the same old story.

We are forecast some sunshine, so that should boost temperatures in the GH. So I'll be taking my little plants out there for the day, and bringing them back into the house tonight. I could take the risk and leave them there, under fleece, but prefer to play safe.

Watched Skyfall, with directors commentary, last night. For anyone who has seen the film, the directors commentary is fascinating. The fight on top of a moving train actually showed Daniel Craig himself - no stunt double. That was trully heroic. There was also a scene where a tube train crashed through a roof. I'd thought that was CGI or a model. But they did crash a real train. That scene alone cost £2M to make.

I've braved the elements and ventured out to the *cold* greenhouse.

Temperature inside GH is +3. Minimum last night was -1.

Also put out a second kettle of warm water, and another slice of crumbled bread, for the birdies.

Morning forkers,

Only about an inch of snow overnight , but very cold, and staying that way.

Am envious of those of you who have wood-burning fires. I'm always cutting down big branches, and seem to have a continual supply of (green) wood - but I use electricity for heating and have a huge electricity bill.

Though for the cost of installing a wood-burner, I could use an awful lot of electricity.

I'm surprised that more people don't grow their own fuel. I'd have thought that willows are compact and quick growing, and their ought to be some way of doing it.

Morning forkers,

A winter wonderland here too. Snow seems to be forecast for the entire day.

I cleared a small area to put down some food for ground feeding birds. It won't remain clear of snow for long.

Might try to take some snaps later, or might wait till tomorrow, when it will probably be even deeper.

Sue was having, what is described near the bottom of p1385, as a 'teats/exam'.

Examination of teats, I suppose.

First I've heard of this magazine thing.

Will have to add said magazine to my Tesco order next week.

I got an E-mail from Tesco today - a voucher for next week - 5p.

Every little helps.

Just got an E-mail from Wyevale too - BOGOF on lots of items this weekend - obviously desperate to get a few customers through the door.

.... assume that GH is my publishing name. No point using a nom de plume  if I'm famous.
