Sprouting Brocoli.

Hello nutcutlet,
I was'nt expecting it like supermarket but the heads would be lucky to have reached about between 1 to 2 inches is this normal and the things sprout yellow flowers.i

I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem or could someone tell me why it happens and how to prevent it? I would really love to resolve this problem as I and my family enjoy brocoli and would really like to have a successful growing season next year weather permitting. I have in the past have been told its because its too warm for it but its now mild and still happening,or is it a fertiliser issue. Thanks look forward to replies.

Can someone tell me if Tulameen is a summer or autumn harvest.

What i mean about repellents is even when I followed some advice on spraying with repellant to try and rid catapillars from chewing the plant they still exist any suggestions.

I am quite a novice gardener but I really enjoy learning so any help will be really helpful. Problems I have encountered this growing season are my brocoli has been growing ok but can't stop it flowering,should I cut each flowering head off or any suggestions. On my rasperrys and blackberries plants I have sprayed with repellant but still catapillars exist. Please reply Gerry.

The plants are only in the 2nd year of growing and they have'nt produced any fruit yet.
