Please can anyone suggest a small tree, shrub  (maybe 3'-4' ) to be grown in a container. I would like colour year round. The garden is south facing.. Thank you.

I have a honeysuckle 'dropemore scarlet which has been around for about 3/4 years largely neglected.  I've  had some success reviving it this year but it has never been pruned.  Should I treat it as if it is it's first year or not cut it back as far.Also. am I right to think pruning should be done in February ?
