Hello everyone,

Busy couple of days, started  early yesterday morning with a phone call from elderly neighbour at 7 0 clock to ask if we could go round as she had water pouring through the kitchen ceiling,we rushed round in dressing gowns to discover a plastic nut on the side of the toilet cistern had split and water had obviously been pouring through the ceiling for most of the night. Turned off water, called her daughter who is nearby, and a plumber, moved furniture.etc.,

Sodden carpets now outside, her daughter has sorted out the insurance, the ceiling will need to come down (unless it falls down first).Felt so sorry for her as she has been unwell this year.

Its lovely to be able to make your own decorations ay Christmas, much better than just buying everything, it doesn't matter too much what it looks like.

Sad situation all round Dove, lucky your brother is a big farmer, but I guess for some of the smaller operations it could be a very big problem.

I know we always moan about the prices in Supermarkets, but this just puts it in context.

Make sure you anchor the branches down firmly onto the ground, I use a bit of wire, or the hook ends from broken coat hangers.
