I now have little mushrooms aound this pot guess its a sort of fungus. .  Ive now put in the green house in large tub the pots will disintergrate they dont have yellow foliage so fingers crossed Ive also covered with fleece thank you Verdun

Can you tell me how you know you have carrot fly. I ve just spoted sort of rust spots on my soil around the carrots which I planted in little recycled pots on a high shelf in my green house.  I now want to transplant them and have found 5 with a rust looking marks on the soil and sides of pots.  Anyone help please ????

Very soggy underfoot and poss more snow or rain to come.  Last year at this time Nr Norwich we had a forthcoming Drought what a difference this year ... Please lets have a little sun.

I had used fleece all the way through but  results were poor.  I will prepare bed as above and hopefully fingers crossed and legs we will have carrots worthy of the new veg beds .  Thank you all Great talking to you all

Manure arrived Im on my way to no dig ... thank you Friends

Lots to think about and good ideas .. Ive got itchy fingers as well as green ones now.

Thank you for your advise see how we go. Hopefully this coming year will be a better crop.  I thought carrots didnt need mulch but as Im having problem with them will give that a go as well.  Much appreciated

  thank you for your reply ..Ive made raised beds and the soil is quite light but may still have stones.  Our normal soil varys in different parts of the garden but mostly clay.  I dont think there is insect damage just minute.

Im new to veg gardening and would like some methods on  carrots.  The last two years have not been worth the wait always very small and deformed.  Anyone got good methods and results that work thank you

Im going to try the no dig method this year for the first time.  Advice on your methods please.  Do you add manure etc thank you
