Lavender from seed help!

Posted: 30/06/2012 at 09:39
Hi Hollie thanks for your reply. Am thinking the same about going outside but just wanted an experts or a keen gardners opinion : )
The only spare pots I have are 10cm which is why I mentioned about putting 2 or 3 into the same pot?

Hi sorry, they are between 1nch & 2nch's now. Would you recommend putting 2 or three into the same pots? Only asking as I only have spare 10cm pots.

Lavender from seed help!

Hi I am kinda new to gardening so this year I thought I would have ago at growing a few plants from seeds. Lavender being one. I know it won't flower ths year (as I planted it ths year) but am after any information about re potting them. They have outgrown their little seed trays I originally planted them in. Do I plant them in a bigger pot? If so do they each have a pot or can 2 or 3 go in the same pot? Or should they go out in my garden yet? Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks Jem x

Yes a swap shop sounds a brilliant idea! I have tried searching for something like this on the net but wasn't very successful. Who do we need to contact about something like this on here?

freesias from seed help!

Hi hollie

It is lovely to watch the seeds you have planted grow & turn into beautiful flowers! Nothing more rewarding.
As for the freesias I have brought some seeds from Thompson-Morgan online but it doesn't give much advice on growing them from seed, just the basic on how to grow them. Am asking because basically my mum has tried growing them but failed so though their must be a knack to it?!

Thanks for the advice on bulbs though will prob do that if seeds fail : )

freesias from seed help!

Hi I am relatively new to gardening and have stated growing flowers from seeds to save money. Also find it very exciting when I see the first little seedlings appear through the ground. So though I would have a go at growing my mums favourite flower (freesias) to give to her as a birthday present. Ideally would prefer to grow it in a pot as it will be a gift. Can anybody give me any advice on how to grow them in pots etc. Thanks In advance Jem x
