Can I build a conservatory on to a first floor Housing Association flat?

Probably not.......

Morning, Forkers.

White Rabbits!

Cold again here, with grey skies.

Sourdough starter is easy. Just mix some flour and warm water to about the consistency of yoghurt and leave it lying around in the kitchen for a week, feeding it every day with a tablespoon of flour and more water. I used flour with malty bits because I thought it might help, but I know others just use normal bread flour. Some people put dried fruit or rhubarb in to start it off, but I didn't and mine seems to work fine.

Have been without since 2005. Don't miss it and I can watch stuff on iPlayer if I really want to - mostly cookery programmes!

Right, off to my stinkypit now. Sleep well, Forkers.

Loamy dreams.....

I used to like Foyle when I had a telly, partly because I lived in Hastings for about 8 years and partly because I quite fancy Michael Kitchen.

Sounds exhausting, Liz. Well done you!

Any rissoles left.......?

I have hacked the end of the brick off and it is good bread inside. Ready toasted......

Good plan, Bunny. I could use it to build a rockery!

Oh dear, does anybody need a brick? Seem to have forgotten my sourdough loaf in the oven.......sigh. And I had been proving it since yesterday lunchtime - bugger.

No easter eggs here either, Petal. I shall hunt down the bargains in the stupidmarket next week!

Bloke in plot at the back of mine is indeed a retired person. He was an accountant with the MOD, aand is Scottish. He told me that he was at a bit of a loss when he retired......

I suspect that he may be trying to keep out of the way of his wife....unless he has buried her under the patio he haas been building outside his shed.......

Managed a couple of hours at the allotment - I'm not very fit, and the air is still cold on the lungs out there. There wasn't a soul there for most of the time, then Allotment Chief arrived - he's a bit of a PITA. Why was I buying ready amde raised beds when you could get scaffolding planks, people would help me build them etc, etc. Nobody is ever there at the same time as I am, for a start. And I prefer to do things for myself.

Here's the allotment:

I planted my broad beans - please note fork handle:

And here is the allotment of the obsessive bloke at the back of mine - blimey!

Morning, Forkers.

Blue skies here. I am psyching myself up for an assault on the allotment. I'm hoping there won't be too many people down there (antisocialOldGits'R'Us) as most people will probably be doing the family thing today. 6 bags of compost in the back of the Land Rover to dump there awaiting arrival of more raised beds.

I shall dig......
