The weather

I also have alot of large pots that need to go out.I live in Halifax west yorks and it has been lovely weather past week or so during the day but bloody cold at night.

I have Rudbeckias (goldstrum), purple magnus, Cosmos, and Moonfire Dahlias all out in pots they are doing fine although I do cover with fleece at night time.

I also have an Olive Tree which is fine I only cover if we are due a hard frost also I have a Date Palm which I have to carry in at night nearly breaks mi bloody back!

I have pansys, violas, mimulus and other plants still in my conservatory and they wont go out til probably mid-may, we still get frost in the Pennines in May sometimes early June its a real pain.

we have had 3 foot of snow where I live in Halifax even more on top at hills.

Sick of it piss poor....

take cutting of dahlias, i have done loads of them.

just chop one of the stems half way if it green good if brown chuck it int bin.

Old seeds

I have just planted some old seeds about 8 years old (cosmos) 3 have come up.

Nipping Dahlia tips

Hello fellow gardeners.

I would like to know if it is a good idea to nip the growing tips off when growing Dahlia's either from tuber or seed.If the answer is yes when should i do this, also would the plant become bushier.Please let me know.

I to have planted around 30 lillies and have started my dahlia tubers inside.

I have sown  Mimulus which have sprouted also I have X2 Coneflowers on the go ( Purple Magnus) also I have growing a chocolate cosmos and dahlia seeds.

I cant wait too I love planting flowers.
