Only put them in and out of a bucket just to invigorate them they've been bone dry since October drying out on newspaper. I usually mist with water once a week starting in feb but not had the chance. I'm optimistic that the change in weather will bring them on. I've removed the parts I found to be soft and damaged and they look ok

I'm going to transfer them into a well lit room this weekend see if that can encourage any growth maybe it is the cold nights last year seemed milder than this

hi all again, after a lovely day in the garden ive got back on track with the herbaceous perennial border.

although I have said that the garden is struggling to show signs of life even though there is visable signs of lifer they aren't as happy as they used to be with clumps now scragaly and weak climbing roses that have perished etc it is a mess I was wondering if the answer could be mulching where I can more often than once yearly?

I hope someone can give me some really good advice and help me out as im hoping for a good turn out this year also alliums have appeared but no flower stalks just leaves what the hell is going wrong with this garden??

thanks for the replies guys i'm based in Cumbria Whitehaven to be exact.

the garden gets a regular mulch of compost, leaf mold and bark and through the growing months the garden gets a balanced feed as well as water.

last year was a very quiet year for slugs and snails as I started early with the pest control!

im just agrivated because I put a lot of time and effort into this area of the garden and my expectations keep getting dashed. I know its supposed to flow and be natural but it just isn't working at all.
