Posy says:

Yes, but do you have enough birds to get through three or four hundred slugs a day because I don't . I turned over a paving stone the other day and found a toad enjoying the damp space. He was sharing it with eight slugs, two of which were lying against him. Nobody looked hungry or nervous.

See original post

Hahaha Posy that made me laugh. Slugs cosying up with mr toad. Typical!

I like the sound of the slug salt bath device and would also like to see a picture please gardeningfantic

Dragonflies with damaged wings :-(

Posted: 16/07/2016 at 11:19

Lots of beautiful dragonflies emerging from our pond at the moment. Sadly there are currently 2 common hawkers each with a damaged wing who cannot fly. One has been there for 3 days and the other for 2 whilst others that emerged at the same time have long since flown away. Its so sad to see. So I was wondering if anyone knew if there was anything at all I could do to help them. I have moved them away from the pond so they don't fall in (one already did and I rescued it from drowning!). I wonder if they feel pain? If I cut off the damaged wing would that help? The damaged wing on both seem to be getting in the way of the other wings.
