I think nutcutlet is in the right area - the stems are very like a spiraea. It is very invasive, but can be pulled out. It has taken over a bed in a garden I'm renovating.

Thanks

Propagating sterile buddleia

As nutcutlet says, try cuttings now and through the year, several round the edge of a pot filled with a sharp sand/compost mix, and try some in a greenhouse and some outdoors. These things (Buddleia) are usually very keen to reproduce themselves!

God luck

squash seed germination

Hi all

I've grown squash relatively succesfully for over ten years, bt this year I've had major problems with seed germination (3 from 24).

My guess is that it's been too cold, even though they are in a polytunnel, but wonder if anyone else has had problems?

Yellow/orange maple

Thank you Gold1locks, I'm pretty sure it's Acer pseudoplatanus "Brilliantissimum". My description was rubbish! I may need an eye test!

Yellow/orange maple

Hi all

Can anyone tell me what the maple is (I'm assuming its an acer of some description) that  currently has lovely orangey/yellow leaves?

They seem to be a really common garden tree here in Manchester, and put on a real show at this time, but it bugs me every year that I don't know what it is. Please put me out of my misery!

Thanks, Mark
