New allotment OMG...

Posted: 09/06/2015 at 15:35

Ginagibbs , Cotswold stone slabs sounds like a great find

Somebody on the A gave us some surplus beetroot as our first lot of seeds didn't germinate ,

We keep giving rhubarb away as it is like a forest still

spent weekend at allottment , everything looking good on target with digging  , even picket some broad beans

never watered so much , it is the wind which is drying everything

Anyone done any gardening today?

Fruitcake no harm to potatoe plant , a couple of fiends who grow them in bags , often take some out and leave the rest growing

been up to A this morning planted 3 squash and 3 pumpkin , never grown the later before , also did a bit of digging

o/h in week planted leeks and weeded onions

After lunch cut lawns and a bit of dead heading , just having a beer waiting for dinner

hope you are all well , Gardengirl your digging grass sounds like really hard work but hopefully worth while , if we go for the day we take food as well , in the summer we sometimes take a disposable barbecue

Removing Horsetail

Posted: 31/05/2015 at 16:34

Hello everybody , I have this horsetail on my allottment and I have started to use a weed killer made by " Neudorff " which seems to be working

Yes a real problem I think the best you can do is keep it under control

best of luck everybody
