This is a small shrub about 3 feet tall, planted late May. She's such a beautiful blue, and I don't want to lose her!  Any advice?

Buddleja hanging its heads - is this normal?

I have a young buddleja, about three feet tall, planted in June.  I can give it a good drink of an evening, but the following day it's heads will start to droop.  Is this normal, or perhaps due to the prolonged heat?  I don't think it can be thirsty

The other day I was watching a bee buzzing around my foxgloves.  It bounced from one flower to another, landing on the runway, but never venturing inside. I could have sworn I heard it buzzing, "BEEn there, done that, got the BEEshirt"

Runner beans - masses of flowers, only ONE bean.

I've started giving them a good soak twice instead of once a day, and have also misted the flowers, so we'll see what happens!  I'll let you know .....

Runner beans - masses of flowers, only ONE bean.

I have 3 White Lady runner bean plants in a big pot on my patio.  It is my first attempt at growing them.  They look really healthy and have smothered the 6' wigwam with masses of leaves and flowers.  9 days ago I spotted my first miniscule bean, and felt really proud!   But since then, absolutely nothing - just dead flowers on the ground.   Bees don't seem to be visiting, even though I have planted some sweet peas with the runners and there are single dahlias and roses nearby.  Any suggestions?

Sounds great Lyn.  Can you give me a model name/code number?  Also, do you have to put it on a wall, or can it sit on the ground next to the water tap?

Great start with some good basic advice - thank you!  Now i need to know if you could recommend a particular hose on a reel, and what sort of tap connectors i might need.  I tend to be very nervous of anything that isn't as simple as ABC, so explanations in words of one syllable will be welcome and not considered at all patronising!
