I only brough my campanula's a week or so ago as well from guy on local market. Not impressed. Won't be buying from him again. Not being harsh, its not the first thing I've brought from him that's curled up its toes within a week or two. I'll stick to garden centre reductions from now on, all of those are doing fantastically well.

The flowers usually Shutterfly, looks like you're going to have a battle with that

Your picture 2 looks like my campanula's right now, all the flower heads going brown and dropping off but the leaves look the same as mine. They're the only bit doing OK right now.

what is this plant?

Ooh if it keeps moles at bay I'm interested, I think!. Am not having good thoughts about moles right now. Little bleeders. Aren't Euphorbia's all toxic on the skin though? I know its terribly wimpy and cowardly but I don't grow anything Euphorbia for that reason, I just find it easier to not have it around that way I can't forget and get caught out. Anything else said to keep moles at bay (apart from spearing or clubbing them that is!)?

Old and tangled Lilac - what to do?

Your Lilac tree looks somewhat like mine! I'm going to have a go at tidying it up but no chance of taking it down, landlady wouldnt appreciate it me thinks! Thing is I love it, it still flowers and is just about the most beautiful thing in my garden when it flowers so I wouldnt want to lose it anyway, I just wish it would smarten itself up a bit!

Picture 2 looks like Campanula but not sure which variety.

Picture 3 could be same, or some sort of Geranium

Picture 1 I've no idea. Pretty leaves though.

I'm still learning a lot of things myself, someone far more knowledgeable than me will be able to id these for you for certain.

Fantastic. Thanks all. I can have a proper look up on RHS site now and find out the rest of what I need to know (I used to know, years ago, but forgot!). And I'll keep hunting on the Begonia, it'll be out there somewhere!

Good afternoon ladies and gents,

I hope you are all a lot more fortunate with the weather right now than I am - its just awful

I bought this Campanula and Begonia today but have no idea which variety they are. I've had a look at Wisley's web site but there are thousands! Some of which clearly aren't mine and some which like as though they could be, maybe. If you can give me a definite id that would be great. Pics are below. With apologies however I have my idiot head on today and didn't put the flash on so they're somewhat dull but hopefully you'll be able to see clearly enough.

Thanks for your help, Heather

If only we all had a Mr. Titchmarsh that would come and "do" for our gardens at exorbitant costs whilst we were out doing the weekly shopping or some such other everyday chore! I do watch (but didn't realise it was back on last night) as I like the concept of the show, but really, in terms of cash outlay completely unachievable and unrealistic for the majority of us which makes me a bit irritated. Most of us don't have that kind of money to splash out on our gardens!
