I'll vote for Nelly up here too - she's just poking her head above the ground a few inches now.

Does anyone else..........

I wonder about this too, we always chop up the banana skins; this is our first composting year.

Our bins are not in a "hot" place & of the beehive type, which I have read are not as efficient as other types.

What a difference a day (& a bit) makes!!

Friday early evening heavy rain & sleet, 1c.

Today late afternoon sunshine & 15c.

My poor babies out there are all confused.

Glad it's not just me jacqui!!

It warmed up later to about 10c but still showery so stayed in & put up pictures - been in the house 3 years in Sept & only put up a few.  The walls are now well & truly festooned (and himself didn't even bash his thumb ).

In about February/March when everybody here was complaining about the snow I kept saying "None here, yet.  We'll probably get the lambing snow in late April/early May when the hill sheep lamb."

Well, on the hills has come the snow & Ben Wyvis (about 3,400 ft) which we see from the back of the house had lost almost all of it's winter snow - now it's white again!

Last night I went out, we were roughly at sea level, the temp went down to 1c & it was sleeting!!  The lambs didn't look too chuffed either.

It's about 8c now & cloudy with the odd light shower, but a cold wind.  At this rate I'll be hardening things off still in August......

Jeyes fluid uses

I'd be interested in their anti-vine weevil use as well - don't want to kill the plant too......

I've used it as an anti-cat preparation - dried a few teabags & dunked them in neat Jeyes. They were put down a very narrow cat-width gap beside a fence, & although the cats can easily get in the other side or over the back wall there have been fewer around since then. (And the one which permanently has "the runs" just uses the front lawn rather than both ).

I'm an impulse plant buyer and bring things home and, surprise! there's nowhere to put them

Thank goodness it's not only me! - I've got pots & pots of things (mainly cheaply bought or cuttings) which I will find the perfect place for eventually......

Good Evening FORKERS

S'pose I'm too late for the cake then??

Presumably I'm first on here tonight as the rest of you are enjoying the sunshine today??

Well up here it's been horrible; tomorrow it's supposed to be horrible too - might even get sleet!!    Spring has sprung & the grass needs a cut, but it feels more like early March today.

I'm off to my country dancing class to warm up!!
