When did you plant them flower power? They do take a while to get going, slowly you should be able to see the beet part forming at soil level.

I think if you pick them when they are smaller they tend to be sweeter

They can grow into large plants Dove and they seem to adapt to different growing condtions. The first picture is fab. Gorgeous smell too

I think they are classed as invasive in some parts of the US

I think you might get some more flowers if you take off the spent ones. The ones I have were only  planted here a year ago and a couple of them show now signs of slowing done at the moment.

Sometimes I find that they grow offshoots near the base, which is the next best thing to having new plants as you can cut off the dead bits and the whole thing starts to grow again.  I've even had some success on taking cuttings just by potting in to compost.

I'll be leaving a few seed heads on so I can sow some more purple ones. I only had white to plant last year and I like them both

Any one interested in meditation?

Posted: 17/06/2016 at 10:21

Morning everyone

Came across this yesterday and thought the offer too good not to share.

I've been using it on and off for a while now and have found meditation a enjoyable and interesting experience.

The guy behind Headspace is Andy Puddicombe. Former Buddhist Monk and circus performer, very interesting guy. There's no religious aspect to the app at all and it's very easy to get started.

There's a vast collection of meditation exercises which you can tailor to suit yourself and what you want to get out of it. I just do 10 mins each day.

I think the yearly subscription for this is over £100 annually.
