Cosmos seedlings

Posted: 05/04/2015 at 21:55

It's a good attempt I've read about them but never used or made one. You putting the remaining cosmos in it? Be good if it worked

Hi Nut, the third one like it could be familiar (not much help I know) Can't help thinking that it looks like it will develop blousy yellow flowers? Something about the white veins.

I can't enlarge the picture to have a better look

Sweet peas

I've only just sown mine, I'm very late this year. think they would be ok to go out. If they are inside or greenhouse etc I would harden them off a bit

I'd leave them grow a bit more before pinching out, they look healthy

Maybe the slugs had them? Or they rotted off in the clay soil? Could you add a little drainage if you plant any more? Best of luck with them

I don't have any now, no walls at the moment. In the past I've planted them directly in the soil, with the hope that they self seed themselves. I don't think they need to be planted that deep, think their roots are quite shallow. They are lovely plants one of  my neighbours has an established clump and it looks beautiful.

When you cut them back, you can be quite tough, they seem to respond well to that, maybe leave a few flowers so they can self seed
