I'd imagine that the growth would slow down in the winter months, the ones in the garden are looking very ropey at the monment. It might just be me  but I think they do take a couple of years to really get going.

Grew some from seed last year and they didn't flower this, but did put some on good growth

The weather has been beautiful this weekend, haven't really done much in the garden this year, but had a very enjoyable weekend pottering. Planted some spring bulbs, dead heading, prunning, seed collecting and sowing...........lovely

Oh has been busy reassembling  a green house frame......no glass but we going to treat it as a mini polytunnel........but squarer

Clematis

great name obelixx the same thing happened to me.........not with a clementis but with an everlasting sweatpea. Cut if right off at the ground one year.......thought I'd killed it. After about 18 months disappearance,up it poppped a few months ago and is really going for it, no flowers but it's very much alive. Amazed that it stayed  alive in the ground with no light

hi nut, think i saw the false sunflowers, really pleased they gave you a show, the bees and butterflies adore them

Got some toads here but don't see them for ages but once in a while I spot them, saw one in the flower beds a few months ago. There are slow worms here as well, earlier on this year, rescued quite a few.....they were brought home very much alive by the cats. Not seen a hedgehog though, but do have gaps under the fence just in case

Thanks for the info on this thread, grew some for the first time this year and they took an age to germinate but I have several all still flowering so no seedlings yet that I can see

I'm hoping that that they self seed and survive the winter but might cut down a couple and pot up for  winter in the cold frame.

I love my rudebekias, grew some last year and they survived the winter so added some cappuchino types and some sweet little totos, small and pretty and have been flowering for ages. Lovely flowers for late summer, autumn

Hi Paddy, grew some veg here for the first time, all gone now but great fun and eat some veg that I grew

I have coldframes that are empty at the moment so might try with some salad leaves

I bought some snowdrops in the green and the 6 perennial offer last year. A year on and I'm very happy with them, on the whole grown into strong perennial plants.
