Busy Lizzie, I definatley have plant envy over the Dicentra.......I want one. I like violas a lot as well, got some johnny jump up? in pots....growing well now i've stopped deadheading developing flower heads instead of the spent ones.........got bushy plants though

I had similar echevaria that flowered last year fairly girl  lovely yellow flowers, hen and chicks? Used to grow a lot of succulents indoors

Think maybe a clemantis montana would do ok in less than good soil This one if happy grows like mad though, early flowering type, but lovely foilage, does go to stick in the winter.

I'm growing for verbena boneralis for the first time, sowed them I think in Jan, did the in the fridge, inside, outside in a cold frame, was very close to ditching them but thought I'd give them  a bit longer. More out of frustration I had a scratch about in the compost and then soon after up they came Probably got about 20 seedlings

I don't do the soaking or chitting of any seeds either

Can't see it being a problem, I have 2 cats and the only thing they've caught yet is a baby rat.............

Hi Emma, don't think think the grassy stuff is crocosmia, think it's more likely to out of the wildflower mix. The little blue flowers poking through are forget me nots, not sure what they are growing through.

Pull the sycamores out, I get loads of little beech growing here

Don't think you are doing anything wrong Bushy, I did the same with some lobelia and it hasn't done much yet. Are they still looking healthy?
