Root Trainers

Posted: 07/01/2016 at 11:08

I've not ever used them but I've heard that they are good for plants like sweetpeas that like a good root run

I've treated myself ...

I've not used a heated propagater before, what sort of things are you going to sow apart from the peppers and chillis? I have done indoor january sowings of things before, a bit hit and miss but somethings did well. This house doesn't have any deep  windowsills so lack the space here otherwise I might be tempted to sow something

I hope you dont' feel bad pansyface, you asked a simple question about someone that you are concerned about. There's nothing wrong in that, there's is also no difference in you asking if Jo is alright to Garden girl asking about Wonder boy.

Sometimes I find this forum a bit of a forum by comittee where there seems to be some unwritten rule book about what you can say/post to whom But I think it's the  best gardening forum out there and I enjoy the gardening chat I've been here a while too so know there's a few people here who have done the I'm leaving/Don't go/ I'm back thing including a couple who are commenting on this.

Hi pansy face, I've taken cutting in the past where I've just plonked into soil. I didn't know that you can root them in water thanks

An unexpected afternoon off Always the best kind. Kizzy is very pretty, she looks like some sort of poodle/lab cross.

Hosta- don't let them get you down.

It's stopped raining and there is a small slither of blue sky

Out of control...

You could cut the taller stems off the big one. It won't do any harm and it will look bushier. If you pick out the tips of new leaves more often than not the plant will grow in both directions so you can encourage it to bush up in places.

The off cuts could be used for cuttings. I'd be tempted to leave the small one as it is and repot when it starts growing again in Spring

It's a succulent of some sort. I used to have one. Maybe something like zebra?
