Good Evening FORKERS

Hello everyone, unexpected sunny warm day here, spent all day outside planting stuff out, watering and pricking out stuff. Finally the frames are starting to look empty

The blue tits sound lovely Dove, I do love the birds but not encouraging any as now I have two cats. Sounds like you picked up some bargains Bev rescue plants are brilliant.

What are you sowing now?

Perfect time to sow biennuals........wallflowers, foxgloves, sweet williams, sweet rocket. I'm thinking great time to sow any perennials as well.

I've found if you collect seeds off the ragged robin once they are ready and sow them straight off the plant they germinate quickly and you can have the 2nd generation in the ground before winter ready for next year

Hello bought some perennials early this year 10 for £10 and got some lovely campanulas which I thought some were going to be blue but they all turned out to be white.

White honesty, white campion, white mallow all biennuals which can be sown now for next year.

Thinking further ahead to next spring, there's some lovely white crocus and daffs

How long do Lupins live?

Posted: 29/06/2013 at 22:46

Hi greentooth, tbh I don't know. I have a few lupins one of which is in a heavy damp soil amd so far it comes back every year. When you say you lose them, do they not come up at all? Or is that the fresh leaves get eaten?

Courgette Flowers

Hello, I'm completeley new to any type  of veg growing. I'm only getting my head round that courgette plants have a  flower now hear theirs male and female flowers!

ONe of my courgette has an orange colour flower, I'm assuming thats a male and it has very small courgettes growing. Will a female flower just appear? Will it look prettier? Does the plant need a male and female flowers?

We've just chucked some veg in this year so know nothing about what to expect
