Hello everyone, all the verbs are now growing but the ones I potted on are miles ahead of the rest............I'm starting to believe that they will grow into big plants

Beautiful pictures Marion, really like the second one, the red is stunning

Looks a lovely spot Andy, be good to see what you've done with the blank canvas.

The day lilies look beautiful and bright  Busy Lizzie, just accquired the plant, looking forward to seeing what colour it's going to be.

Think it might be a hermerocallis now. It does look exactly like yours chicky. I did have a look at the roots before it went into the ground, the roots weren't fat and white, more stringy if anything

I'm still happy with it, looking forward to it flowering and seeing what colour it is, peach one sounds good

Thanks everyone

Taking cuttings

Posted: 02/06/2013 at 21:01

I think they are quite easy to take so you should get good results. Not done it myself but remember my mum growing them, I think she just put them in some water to root. Couple of weeks I would think to get some roots, might have to wait until you see a new leaf forming to know for sure

Would you divide this Lupin?

Hi Cheryl, yours looks nice and healthy with loads of flowers. I do think they depreciate over the years though. I took cuttings at the beginning of April off one of mine that looked as if it was struggling a bit. The oringinal plant now looks better for it and the cuttings are doing well.

I think I know the ones you mean Violet, I hadn't thought of that. When I first got it I did think Agapanthus, based on some pictures I'd seen, I looked it up in Dr Hessayon and other name for it is African Lily. Will post some pics when it flowers
