Dampish day here, probably not going to do too much, been out and peeked at the seedlings and the temporary greenhouse...........cats discovered it last night so have pulled off a bit of the polythene, hopefully they fell in and realised that it's not to be walked on!

hi flowersforbees, we've not met but I have enjoyed reading your thread about growing wildflowers, I love growing stuff from seed and try to grow plants that all have some benefit for insects.

I'm not a regular poster on this thread........... generally can't think quick enough to keep up!

WUM get everwhere, I just ignore them. Looking forward to the dancing tonight

Worst Winter ....... .?

Don't take any notice of the news, haven't watched it for years or read newspapers. If you believed everything they say we would never get out of bed! Seems to me that these day if it snows in Winter it's a headline! I just look out of the window

I don't like the cold at all so not too much of the white stuff for me please

I'm a bit lost.......... OH is making good progress on the temporary greenhouse, looks  like there goes to me a lot more room for growing and whilst we were out getting the polystyerene, picked up some more crocus, blue pearl, not grown these before but they look a lovely colour and some more grape hyacinths. I love spring bulbs and have been adding them for the last couple of years

Have to say punkdoc you did make me laugh....few beers and then some food

Have a good evening everyone

Not long got my first buddelia, dark night one really looking forward to seeing the butterflies on it next year. Think they are pretty indestructible, I might be wrong but would it be worth protecting them Sue if the temps got that low?

Hello everyone

Annuals for partial and complete shade

Posted: 10/10/2013 at 21:38

I have a damp bed in partial shade, I've had some cornflowers, cleomes and snapdragons which give some colour and clary sage seems do ok, but not spectualr.

Sweet rocket do very well not annuals but grow quick and need very little maintenance, if they like it ,all you have to is cut it back when in flower and it  keeps going
