Sickly smelling plant

Posted: 04/06/2012 at 20:45

We bought a house a couple of months ago and we've just attacked the rockery area which was completely overgrown with the same plant. It was a mid-green coloured sickly-sweet smelling plant with red stems. Anyone got any idea's on what plant it could be? (was growing in good soil but an area that probably didn't get too much sun) We would have taken a photo but they stunk so badly we just wanted to get them out!

What compost?

Compost surface... could well be the wet compost. Shall I just remove it?

The moss os currently on some F1 Hybrid chilli's, radish seedlings, and on Sweetcorn (going from memory.. might have to check when I get home from work).

We've got some Miracle Gro compost in use at the moment, as well as some miracle gro seeding compost. What does everyone else recommend?

Some of my seedlings have started to develop a white furry moss. Is this something to be concerned about? I remember getting a little of this moss when growing some lavender from seed for a little while, or is this part of the germinating process for some seeds?
