Ha--you are all being silly!

Dean, I'm glad your friend's sendoff went well. My friend has been waiting since before Xmas to find out if she has a death sentence-----not good!

On a cheerier note--her are the last of my tomatoes from the greenhouse.

Me, too--my house is really a glorified shack--but the location makes up for it. Do love that arbour, though.

Welcome to Rambling Rose and well done, Girasole!

Sunny and just above freezing here this morning. Must go out and check if any tips are being bared.

My niece gave me a green man for Xmas-but he is not green. He is marshalled with the others on the deck awaiting deployment in the garden.

Thanks, Bjay--I had a 30/day habit, but have been down to 5 a day for a month now. I have lost my smoker's cough, do feel better, and haven't bought a carton since the middle of Nov. I like your OH's attitude. I have never attempted to quit before!

I jumped on the scales in trepidation this morning---and was amazed to find I have lost 2 lbs. since the last time I did it--before the holidays!!!Must have been the wood-chopping.

Nicotine patch applied---am I mad to expect I can quit smoking and continue to lose weight?

At least the sun is out--sort of.

I think it was last year's Christmas one--it ended with Matthew proposing. And thanks for no spoilers!

Here's wishing all forkers a happy, healthy New Year--along with better gardening weather!

Good morning, all--we are back to rain on the last day of the year--but my carpets are shampooed, the house is clean, all debts paid, all carbs removed from cupboards and stored in the shed, nicotine patch at the ready, and so I am prepared for the new year.

There is even sunshine in the forecast after today, but I will believe it when I see it!

Downton starts here next Sunday--watched the Christmas one last night, and I'm really looking forward to it!
