Still morning here, Dean. Sad to say the highlight of my day is going to get a flu shot.

Was alarmed to see images of flooding your way on the news last night!

So annoyed at my computer-it regularly resets to the previous page. Do you think it's my browser? I use Firefox--seems to have started after my last update.

Bjay, my loveseat was also free--I quite liked the upholstery until the cat scratched it. The canvas was cheap- about 15 dollars a meter, and it took 3 meters.Mind you, I didn't do the back,as it's never seen!

Our local bookstore will buy books back --you get a credit of half on the original price, for those in good condition, so last year I had a real cleanout. I have an e-reader that allows me to borrow library books, and now that we have a local library [albeit very small] I am able to keep the burgeoning books down to a dull roar. Am a readaholic, especially mysteries.

Glyn--don't think you could afford me---!!!!!

I did this one, too--but much easier, as basically 2 cushions.

Perhaps one day I'll get around to refinishing the wood!

Being retired is quite good.

Thanks, Bjay--I am quite proud of it. Done 3 years ago--it stays outside, but is covered in rain and for the winter. I liked the striped canvas, but it did make the job harder matching them. I haven't made dolls, but have stuffed old clothes for scarecrows--does that count? Did this at school with kids, the results were hilarious!

Hi all-sunny but chilly today--late start this am because dogs objected to a raccoon on the deck about 4 am and then I had trouble falling back to sleep. Last night's hen party was fun--back home by 10, though.

Bjay, here is my first attempt at upholstery--if I can do it, you can!

Hope Jo has recovered.

Dean, it must be a wrench for you!!!Normality, I mean.

Jean, that shirt is perfect! Don't know what happened to my last post--disappeared.

Will wear it with my skinny jeans[ if I can get into them], and think of you!

Hello,all-just gone noon here in the sunshine.

I have been invited to a hen party tonight, and I'm sure I will be the oldest one there.

Think I will make little smoked salmon quiches for an appy.

Also been invited to an end of the world party--asked to bring tequila [seems appropriate], but I don't have a thing to wear! So will probably be quite chilly. Perhaps my garden togs?

Lottie, my friend's mother who is a GG is known on Facebook as the GR81!!!!

My dog Inka is considering these flies as a personal affront---now the window is covered with nose prints! That low wintersun highlights every cobweb, streak and smear- but the sunshine is worth it!

Roasting a free-run chicken for dinner--it will be that and salad--still have lettuce and cherry tomatoes. Flies are extra.

Wow, Lottie!!That's a big boy-probably just as well it was a c-section. And now you are GREAT! Congrats!

Warmish sunshine today, so I opened the doors to the deck and now there are a couple of dozen HUGE black flies buzzing around! Must put a battery in my zapper.

Running around today--local Xmas fair for smoked salmon, Market for produce, library and then the Small World Art show--lots of great miniature works by local artists--including some former students--very proud!

Outside in a mo to top up the woodpile--still making progress in my smoke reduction program--down to 10 yesterday. Went to buy an inhaler, but they don't sell them on the island. May make an appointment at doctor's next week to get the patch.
