Bjay--the whales go through the Pass often in summer--I don't see them that often because of the angle, but hear them blowing at night. Yesterday the kids on the school boat saw a gray whale--that is rare--and make the Orcas look small. There are porpoises too-often they will follow the ferries.

HaHaHA---you lot are in fine form this morning! Yesterday was a gorgeous day here--checked out my secret chanterelle patch, but still no joy.

Put some lights up on my arbour, which was looking bare without the ivy. But they are white, so they are probably going to stay up, at least for the winter.

For thos who inquired about my pets--this is what they mostly do--

And this is my whale turbine----

Someone sent me this photo--if you look closely in the top right corner you can barely see my house!

Hope everyone has had a good day--mine is just beginning!

Good grief, lilylouise--it's still yesterday here.

Sounds like you've caught lots of worms already!

HaHaHa, Insomnia! I once dressed up for Halloween at school just like that [had forgotten it was costume day]--except I put my glasses on over top.  The kids thought it was hilarious--and I could actually see. But your hair looks lovely--mine is more two-tone, if you know what I mean.

Jo, I wish I had a visiting hairdresser! Mine has now reached my waist. Must get out more. Last town trip was in June!

Yes, Pottiepam, the drawing class began awhile ago--but I missed the last 2 sessions--once felt poorly, and second due to car trouble. So tomorrow is the last one.

I have done a drawing of a balalaika, will be bringing the instrument to class, as it is a musical theme. Lovely lines and shapes.

Hello, all---very drear  here; will be staying in and drawing today. So dark this morning that the motion sensor light went on when I let the dog out.

I remember Rin Tin Tin and Lassie---we got our first TV in the mid 50's. Of course here we got the Mickey Mouse Club and the Ed Sullivan show, too. Before that just the radio. And we read lots of books--still do.

Malirechen--cocoa shell is extremely toxic to animals, particularly dogs. Please don't use it.

Becks, hoping that Jess is feeling better. Flobear, that dog is adorable--mine can't get on the bed, as it is too high and they are too big!

Geoff, I hope I wasn't one of those that offended you-----still don't understand why I am invisible.

Got cold overnight, but nowhere near the -4 predicted.

One more day of sunshine, then back to rain--the forecast is for -4*C tonight, so topped up the woodpile and moved the last of the plants into the greenhouse. Planted all my free strawberry plants yesterday--and today they got mulched. Loving this sunshine--but had to wear a hat because of the glare. This low autumn sunshine is dazzling. Need to have a big bonfire, but neigbours are working outside, and I don't want to smoke them out.Meatballs with mushroom, red wine and onion gravy tonight, with roasted cauliflower and garlic puree tonight. Have lost about 3 lbs so far.
