It's mating time for them now--they do the most incredible aerial ballet with sticks, swoops and drops in tandem. I am truly blessed to be able to live here!

Eagles are elegant when soaring, but not too maneuverable in the forest--I have seen them ganged up on by smaller birds if they venture too close to a nest. Once I found a live salmon on a woodland walk, dropped by an eagle. It was delicious!

The patches are okay--still smoking 3 a day though--can't seem to go below that. Plus I use the gum from time to time. Might try hypnosis.

Howdy, Forkers--our grey rain is back, after a brief but pleasant respite yesterday. Did some tidying in the garden yesterday--weeds, like rust, never sleep--with this eagle watching for over 2 hours. Not a great photo--sun in wrong place. Wonder if she's scoping out a spot for a nest? There are a few

nests in the vicinity, which they add to and reuse in alternate years.

Morning, Forkers--been up since 5; now that it's light think I'll wait for my fire to get going so I can bank it and go back to bed.

Gloomy outside and threatening rain----for several days, looks like.

Hello, all Forkers--you have been busy, typing and wrestling with pyracantha. It was a lovely sunny day here--but I got called in to school--didn't want to go ,but they were desperate enough to call 3x---so I gave in. Hate to miss the rare sunny day in the garden---but if I turn them down too often, they will stop calling. They wanted me again on Thurs., but on another island--definite no to that one, as it means a 12-hour day with the travelling. I prefer my 5 minute commute.

So back to retirement it is! I have dumped all my old seeds into a prepared bed, so we'll see what comes up!

Dean, it's Murphy's Law--you will always have 30% more stuff than you have room for.

February deck decor. Feels good to be mucking about outside! A little grey here--woke up to find my poor old dog had had an accident overnight, so spent some time shampooing--or should I say depooing carpet--my own fault-he woke me but I went back to sleep. Happy gardening, Forkers! Love the costumes!

I'm here--sunny for the first part of the day, have one bed dug and prepared for planting!

Did my income tax for the first time on line--took me ages, but supposed to be getting a handsome refund. Which will probably end up in the garden!

Really need some help, badly!!!!

I'd rather be at Mardi Gras. More fun! But I ate salmon today--local.
