I think one day this country will be over run with animals of all sorts as so many people think more of animals than the rest of the human race. There comes a time when culls are neccessary but then there is an uproar and the powers that be back down.  Every thing in moderation but when farmers livelyhood is threatened by bovine then the cause should be erradicated. Now we are having wild animals introduced here and watch out for troubles with that in years to come.

Gosh thats a good sunny sunday morning rant I'm out to do some watering before I get pelted.

We have tried all sorts even spent £50 on supposed miracle deterrant which was blown away on the 1st day. vaseline on pergola top, red strips around balcony rails, shiny discs. black metal cats and still get the mess

If I drank alcohol I wld suggest a large one just so that you relax and let them get on with it. Its easy to keep them off plants but not to stop the mess on the balcony etc.

Hey ho are you all enjoying this weather,  too hot for me but hope it lasts for childrens hols.

my pear trees and apple trees are laden with blossom but peach and plums are non existent they are all pruned by a professional fruit grower(not me) I am thinking of moving the peach tree this year as last year I only had 8 peaches and they were attacked by wood lice. Its on a sth facing wall but I am thinking of putting it in greenhouse.

so should I lift them from greenhouse and plant outside.  By the way its not only onion soup but the base for all soups of which I am very fond.

Have I got it wrong Adam or were you meant to be on a cruise on the Rhine from 28th April ?
We had to cancel at the last minute due to illness and were very disappointed.
If you did go were the tulips out? and would you recommend the cruise for another time.

Would someone please tell me how to grow onions. I have planted sets in greenhouse and outside but only have greenery, some roots have come on bulbs but they not not swell at all. I use lots of onions for making soup.
