Although we still have a lot of hard weather to come before we feel the warmth of Spring I do find that reaching the milestone of the winter equinox fills me with enthusiasm knowing that the days will only get longer from here on in. Planning for the year ahead starts here

Will probably hire a tree shovel for the job. It was moved quite a few years back before my job here started... And nobody seems to know exactly when that was

I have been asked whether it is feasible to move a magnolia grandiflora that is approx 10ft tall. Has anyone ever moved on of that size and if so, how did it fare??

Leave some of the sediment in the bottom though as this harbours microbes and small insects which benefit the health of the pond

One other benefit of planting below the graft is that it gives the plant more stability against wind rock
