I planted a new rhubarb patch with several new different plants all of which have grown well. One however has spots like boils on the veins on the underside of the leaves causing the leaves to pucker badly. Has anyone any ideas, I have found nothing on line or in books. I have dug and disposed of the plant just in case. thank you
peas have not germinated this year, some sown in the ground, some in root trainers,( I actually use toilet roll tubes) both in the greenhouse and outside Was it too cold, a later sowing was better.
I was told by an old countryman that badgers are the only predator (except us) of hedgehogs, has anyone else heard this. Apparently the badger unrolls the hog and attacks the soft underparts, Knowing how strong they are in the snout and how their thick fur protects them against bees and wasps I can believe it.
Be careful with Laurel in the wet. The cut leaves give off cyanide gas which is lethal. I have seen the fatal results in a horse so make sure there are two of you and the material is dry.
