Reading comments on water butts prompted me to ask about down pipe connectors for a HALLS aluminium GH.The guttering is1" wide and I am unable to find a connection that fits. Any ideas please. Thank you.

Beware of Parkers Bulbs. .

I was robbed by parkers last year and got VERY POOR customer service....in fact none at all.

Jersey plants are good and P&P is free, but choice is limited.

Bought some CANNA plants last year and got a good size plants from them (unlike T&M, £12.00p for 9cm pot!!) and very GOOD customer service too.

CROCUS are good in all aspects but you need a second mortgage to shop there!!

I have "dalek" bins and they sit on slabs like hypercharleyfarley.The advice given above is very good as it has worked for me too. One of my neighbours bought the "tumbler" at great expense but it did not work for the reasons given above. And yes, do try the FOC method with the council.....good luck.

Mine is still asleep too, I blame it ALL on the weather last year....I'm not a happy bunny at the moment as it is by the window and reminds me that warmer days are a coming....nothing this year.

The sun came out yesterday and the weather put a cork in the bucket in the sky, so I was able to viev the "estate". Lots of plants shooting up, I hope we do not get a sharp frost which might hurt them. Never mind, fingers crossed and back to hot drink and seed catalogues Enjoy everyone!

Drowning bamboo, how much can they take?

Bamboos are tough and survive in the boggy jungles in the tropics where they grow wild, so yours should be OK; especially if they are established. It's heavy and persistent frost that kills them. Good luck

Urgent Advice Please - Will bleach kill turf?

Yes, bleach and caustic soda kills plants, turf and worms and seeps into the soil. I know from what it did to my neighbours soil. Please try disinfectant instead.We are pouring too much strong chemicals into our rivers already.
