Begonia corms,Advice please

Hi Helen, wait till the shoots are a bit bigger and cut them(the shoots, not corm) and put them in pots after dipping them in rooting powder. Then stoik a plastic bottle on top, like RD. They will take very easily. Good luck

Yes, thanks Blackest...I think we'll keep you.

There you go again Verdun, showing your age again; remember when you were like RD so, so long ago?

Blue Peter Moment! Reusing bottles

Ta Blakest,........my, aren't you neat RD?

I do the plastic bottle with hole in lid too and place it in a yogurt pot buried in the plant pot(it stops the hole getting bunged up with soil) Very efficient watering system , I say....and FREE!

I use plastic bottles filled with rain water(I'm on meter)and lay them around courgette plants. They warm the soil by trapping the heat of the sun(round orange ball, just reminding me)and release it at night.

I get the flower buckets(5 for 99p) from Morrisons too and use them  as pots etc. and drip water to water the GH.

We love Monty!

There you go again Verdun......behave, RD is a breath of fresh air, soooo keen and enthusiastic.

had your final frost yet - taking a gamble?

Posted: 13/04/2013 at 18:36

i agree with you Woodgreen wonderboy, I'm in the SE too and the late frost got quite a lot of plants, All the young rose shoots were singed, two of the pontitilla are looking very sad too.The shoots of the tree peony, bleeding heart, euphorbia etc.have been affected too. So please be patient a little longer as the nights are still cold. It is heart breaking when you see robust, healthy plants are affected.
